Fill your heart
With a little more
Hope
A lot more of
Forgiveness
Fill your heart
With a little more
Love
A lot more of
Kindness

What poetry is…
Poetry is born when the heart and intellect meet and converse and reflect together.
Poetry is a moment of awareness, a moment of realisation, an insight into being alive and experiencing with the heart; therefore poetry is heartfelt. The poet's sensitivities are heightened towards the occurrence and the experience.
Poetry is inspirational, and also powerful due to the wisdom it carries within its imagery, mood, ethos and pathos.
Poetry is all this, and much more.
Writing poetry is as much a spiritually elevating experience as reading poetry.
To read poetry is to peep into a universally experienced humane moment of life once more, from a different angle and a different point of view-and absorbing the poet's refreshing way of looking at the world.
Reading poetry is therefore at once engaging, elevating, and an intellectual and emotional experience.
Half full
Half full and fuller,
Very cool and cooler,
May your riches multiply,
May your effort intensify
Not a fool or a loser,
Be in gratitude forever,
A heart brimming over
With hope and love
Flowing clear,
Trust in yourself
Stronger,
Faith in yourself deeper,
May blessings
On you always shower,
May Grace be
Your invincible power.
As April approaches
This April:
Hold your positive thoughts longer,
It makes your words
Sweeter and stronger.
Hold your peace longer,
It makes your words calmer.
Hold onto truth forever,
It gives your words
Power.
What thoughts you keep,
That far you'll reach,
Your intent, your thoughts
Into your words will seep,
And find a place
In your speech.
Be word-conscious today onwards!
Be April 'Wise'
Not April fool,
Be 'Word-wise',
Relaxed and cool.
For some of us
For some of us
From this day, today,
This world will never be
The same again.
A few words unsaid,
A few tears unshed,
Will forever remain.
For some of us now on,
A hollow feeling,
An emptiness,
A sense of loss,
A long, quiet silence,
Will forever remain.
This world will never be
The same again.
To those 'some of us'
Whose hearts have broken,
I say, let us bid
Our final farewell,
To the dear departed,
Who now lies in peace
Rises to God,
No longer in pain.
Without them,
Our world will never be
The same again,
As they left quietly,
On the final journey
Rising to Paradise,
Welcomed by eternity-
Leaving with us,
Pure, precious values,
And pearls of wisdom,
And unforgettable
Moments and memories.
To those 'some of us'
Inconsolable, tearful,
Today in this unfamiliar
'Never the same again'
Wide wide world,
Those 'some of us'
Feel their absence in
This familiar homeland,
As they try their grief
To stoically withstand,
I too, with them, stand,
And pray that always
God holds their hand.
Raising sons…
Dear Mothers,
Hope you empower women
And as mothers proudly
Raise sons as gentlemen,
Charming, kind,
Mindful, possessing
Real integrity.
Men who are praised
For absolute chivalry.
They hold doors,
Happily help in chores,
Make their women
Feel like royal ladies.
Mothers, whose sons,
Are their dears,
And raise gentlemen
For others' darling
daughters:
And their sons know
the lady's real worth,
Settle for nothing less
As they walk this earth.
You, who give birth,
You do recall:
You
Rock the cradle,
You
Rule the world!
The Art of Leaving
Leave it.
Detox.
The computer screen,
The ice cream,
The fried chips routine.
Leave it.
Detox.
The virtual game.
The fast food Ramen.
Leave it.
Detox.
Life is not indoors
On a screen-an idiot box.
Choose un-virtual
Real activities, detox!
Choose
The Art of Leaving
To begin
The Art of Living.
Live in Real Reality
Life is not lived
Through an electronic
Two inch foldable screen.
A game played virtually
Means losing health
Both physically
And mentally, no moving.
Playing from a couch,
Is that true sporting?
Success is not
A virtual dream,
Applauding a cartoon,
Or a footballer 'anime'.
Life is not experienced
Alone, behind a screen.
Remind each other,
That the screen
Is a tool,
Don't overuse it,
Like a fool.
Use it with discretion,
To enhance each skill,
Exercise great control,
Or do you choose to live
A real, social life,
Be active, outdoors,
On an occasional parole?
Locked behind
The digital screen,
Are you self-jailed,
Behind virtual bars,
A voluntary 'inmate'?
Have you yourself,
Imprisoned and chained?
Grief
Grief is never brief.
From it,
There's no relief.
Let it shed
From your heart,
Autumn after autumn,
Leaf after leaf,
Tear after tear,
Drop by drop.
Bare eyes,
Bare branch,
Bare heart,
Just continue to live,
Dhak-dhak, dhak-dhak,
Beat after beat...
As you walk on,
Mile after mile,
Remember:
Life is brief,
Accept grief,
With it reconcile,
Try once more to smile.
Time
Spend your time well.
It's the only thing
We have no clue
When it will be over.
Think about how much
We need to push ourself
To accomplish today.
Your journey and mine,
Is like a sip of wine,
Time gulps us over,
May it go slower.
We live the distance,
From presence
To absence.
We breathe the distance,
From sound
To silence.
We traverse the distance,
Our journey together,
Some day transcends
To infinity.
Sooner or later,
We move far above,
To the skies;
Breaking free
From the earth
And its gravity.
You and me,
We are a soul,
In a form.
Into 'shunya'
Any moment,
We may transform.
Right now, here,
Next moment,
Who knows, maybe,
We will become,
A memory sheer.
Every minute
Loads seconds sixty,
So go ahead,
Live it intensely,
With a high level
Of integrity,
And positive energy.
If tomorrow comes,
Make today worthy,
To be remembered dearly.
* Shunya/ shunyata: -Sanskrit concept of nothingness/ zero/ zeroness/black hole
Good Morning
As you go
About your chore,
And still have
To finish many more,
Hold thankfulness,
Remember many yearn
For this normal-ness.
May peace and calm pour,
In your heart-core.
May good luck knock
At your life's door.
Have a blissful morning,
And a very lucky day.
Have a very Foodie Holi
Carrot halwa red,
Boondi ladoo yellow,
Lassi creamy white,
Wishing you
A Holi very bright.
Rose milk pink,
Baigan bhartaa purple,
Gulaab jamun dipped in
Sugar syrup very golden,
And a chocolate truffle,
May in Life always,
You stay out of trouble.
Wishing you Happy Holi
A day full of colours
A rainbow in a jumble,
Samosas and chutney,
Sweet and hot,
Hot and sweet,
With dollop of ice cream,
Topped with honey.
Wishing you Happy Holi,
As challenges you tackle,
Go tighten well,
Your life's seatbelt,
With a friendly hug,
Laughter, love, cheer,
Never under pressure,
Should you crackle,
Don't ever forget,
To cherish, enjoy life,
And age happily,
Chuckle after chuckle.
Wishing you
A Foodie Holi,
A gol-gappa-ful,
Masaaledar gulping,
Of poori after poori,
Rolly-polly, crispy,
Fun-filled, flavourful,
Sweet and savoury,
Zesty,
Zabardast,
Zindagi

What matters.
Doesn't matter
How yesterdays were.
Or tomorrows will be.
Keeping well now-
Just 'now' matters.
The effort to gather
Yourself once more,
Rise to healing,
Like never before.
Remember:
No half death,
No half breath,
No life,
Without strife.
To renew effort,
Be determined,
Do not withdraw,
Live each moment well,
In negativity,
Please don't dwell.
Take a deep breath,
Choose wellness,
Choose strength,
And choose health.
In this moment,
Live fully well.
Hope
Hope:
It's a sweet nothing
Yet just about
All you've got,
It's everything.
Hope heals
The heaviness
Of bitter reality,
It is so cooling
On a life burning.
Hope enables one,
To go on, to cope.
Life's not always
A walk on tight-rope,
Hope revives
And reminds;
'Believe,
Joy too,
Lies within
Life's scope.
Happy weekstart
May you stay focused, decisive, calm and meticulous this week.
May things go your way
Have a creative week,
A laughter-filled day.
All will be well,
All will get better.
Everything is a memory
Everything is a memory.Time well used today is a future worthy memory. So focus on the quality of your thoughts, words and deeds.
Each time you express or interact, it is a moment held in time forever.
Everything is memory.
Are you awakened and aware of what ripples your mere existence and every word and action causes, each time you make a choice?
Spend your time well.
Teach your daughter this:
You are empowered
If your bank account is
surplus and sufficient,
Your house help is
Regular and efficient,
If you are well-trained,
On raising your profit
quotient,
And no one dares to
Stop or question,
Your spending decision.
You are empowered
If you walk to work
Without being taunted
Or made to feel guilty
To not first give birth;
But instead encouraged
To up your own worth,
And decide if you are
Ready to bring
A life on earth.
You are empowered,
If you have your
Own house and
Medical insurance,
Not empty promises,
or false ‘future’
assurance.
You are empowered,
If you are not distracted
To ‘appease’ as
An object of beauty,
Rather raised with
self -defence skills
And busy raising
Your immunity.
You are empowered
If your effort is
Rewarded,
Your results applauded,
But most of all,
Your smile is tear-proof,
You enjoy being
Your truly unique self,
Not pressured to be
A colour, a height,
A certain weight,
That you need
To ‘improve’.
You are not empowered
If you are obsessed,
To be accepted by others,
or
Give yourself up,
Just to be 'approved'.
A set of poems
Now on…
A prayer poem for all
May all safely return home.
Today and every day,
Day after day,
May hope and light,
In your heart thrive,
May your smile revive.
Thankful that all
Home may safely
Finally arrive.
Blessed with health,
May you return
In your full form soon,
Your second life,
Your new boon.
So forge ahead,
All days,
Each hour,
Truly matter,
This disaster,
You did survive.
Today,
Every moment,
May you feel immense,
Calm and peace,
All worries release.
Today and every day,
Day after day,
May you heal,
And all fear,
With faith deal.
Now on,
Let the past
Be a bygone,
A story to narrate,
With detailed content,
And may you arrive
With gratitude
To its happy end,
Of how being blessed,
With a second life,
And affirm,
How Prayers
Worked for you,
To full extent.
Today and every day,
Day after day,
Live long,
Live strong,
May to you,
Peace and health
Lifelong belong.
Make the right choice
Greed ends in
Grabbing more,
Having more
But at the expense
Of cruelty and hate,
And the horror
Of losing love,
Losing peace.
Without love and peace,
Is life worth living?
A ride all alone,
Rich yet forlorn?
May all give up greed,
Give up 'want' and
Just fulfil their need.
All humanity is the same,
A common species,
Of a single creed,
Why choose to be
A greedy breed?
May each one of us
Choose contentment.
March into March
February's ended,
How did the month of Love,
Shower missiles from
Above?
Let's pray for better sense
To prevail,
Let's pray for all
Humanity at large,
As we barge into March.
Let's visualise Peace,
In the month ahead,
May every human being,
Have water and bread,
Each sleep safely,
Under a roof, in a bed.
May March see
Loving kindness more,
Higher cooperation score, And mindfulness galore.
May we realise,
That each weapon
Devastates and destroys,
All humanity,
All beauty,
All creativity,
All development,
And our environment.
As we seek world peace,
Let's peep inward,
Reflect on our lives too:
In 2022,
What we resolved,
How far have we observed?
Do we need to gear up?
Then better now,
Than never,
We're not here,
Forever!
Weekstart checklist
Get equipped with:
A lot of optimism,
And positive magination,
Coupled with clear
Intent of right action,
Supported with effort,
And exude confidence,
As well as choose:
Mindfulness,
Topped with
A dollop of kindness,
And prep yourself well:
A great deal of reading,
Lot more of listening,
Spend a chunk of time
On deep reflection,
Exercise a fair amount
Of discretion,
And resolve to keep
Your mind steady,
Ok then- Yes,
For this weekstart,
You are totally READY!
Some day
Some day,I hope you look back on this day as the day of fond memories, a day when you stepped out and started a brand new chapter of your life. You made a decision stepped into a new you, a beginning-with an uplifting vibe and a smile.
So, may you look back at today as one of those unforgettable lovely days.
Get up, make future memories. Including new look, new ventures, new learning, new cuisine, new book, new poem, new acquaintance-that may change you forever.
GET UP. GO NEW. MAKE MEMORIES.
Laze and gaze
Let yourself laze.
Enjoy the mild sun-rays
Let the cool breeze
Blow on your face,
Smile, feel ease.
Let yourself laze,
At the horizon
Raise your gaze,
Let time reveal,
This life's maze.
Watch
Sugar and saffron
May your day be
As delightful
As easy as it can be.
May your day be
As delicious
As aromatic
As sweet
As warm
As sugar and saffron
In milk would be.
May you,
Like sugar
And saffron, dissolve,
And in higher energy evolve.
May you,
Exude positive vibes.
Today may you rise,
Choosing all
That's kind and wise.
Sip slower today
Hush the rush,
Chai or coffee,
Sip it slower.
Now or noon,
Evening or later,
Find your Me-time,
To take a breather.
Hush the rush,
Chai or coffee,
Sip it slower.
Relax deeper,
A little longer,
A few moments more,
Inhale the aroma,
Exhale Life's drama.
Hush the rush,
Chai or coffee,
Sip it slower.
As you sip,
Bring the cup,
To your lip,
Smile wide,
Let worries slip,
And grudges slide.
Hush the rush,
Chai or coffee,
Sip it slower.
So what now?
Let's say,
What you did dream,
What you did chase,
Was a slip between
The cup and the lip.
You may sulk, scream
Pine for what is not,
Won't let it just go,
Oscillate to and fro-
Pendulum-like, moving
Without progressing.
As you observe,
Surely you know,
Back and forth,
Forth and back,
Ask your self,
What in this life
Do you really lack?
Worth
As a thought visits,
Check its worth
Allow its presence
If it is of positive
And of good essence.
Worthless thoughts
You must discard.
A thought worthwhile
Is the one that
Brings you peace,
Or a smile.
Who are you?
What are you?
You are your mind,
You heart, body, soul.
You are the ‘are’
Not yet the ‘were’.
So you are:
The present,
The breathing 'you'.
You are the time you have left with you.
So when you ‘do’ something,
With your body, mind, heart and soul,
You actually give yourself whole.
To what?
That you decide.
How you dedicate your life.
Your focus,
Your time here,
You either 'spend'
or you 'devote'.
For what use,
What purpose,
You choose.
The unexpected
It is this 'unexpected' that might shake us and break us. Shaking and breaking mean an end, a collapse of all that signifies our meaningful existence.
In the face of it,
Remember:
As your eyes dry,
You are too numb to cry,
Surrender 'me' & 'my'.
Let your soul
At God's feet lie.
Resist the questions
'Why me' and 'why'
Logic is just one way
More than a 1000 paths
Ahead of us lay;
Our journey may smoothen If we pray.
Have a prayerful day ahead.
Good morning
To the 'unexpecteds' today.
May the thorns bring
The softness of the petals along,
The sweetness of the scent,
May you breathe in long.
May moments
Of your 'dreams-come-true'unfurl,
May your heart in gratitude bloom.
I’m not sure
I'm not sure
What love is,
But I know
Kindness is pure.
In the end,
What changes the story,
What matters totally,
Is how well you treat
The one you claim to love
In thought, word & deed.
How far did you succeed today?
How was the day?
You had a successful day if you laughed a lot.
You achieved considerably if you stayed focused.
You did great if you helped a few persons.
You did well if you
spoke your truth no matter what.
You were doing fine if you stood up for yourself and stated how offended you felt.
You were right if you treated yourself to the very best of what was possible and
You were awesome if you managed to thank God and feel gratitude that the day was fruitful.
Measure your day now- how successful were you?
Gathered to garnish
Tangy-sweet
Colourful
Soft-centred
Oranges
Berries
Pineapples
All reds and yellows
Meandering echoes
Of a lived life's
Bows and blows.
A narration silent,
Reminiscences vibrant.
All greens and pinks,
Meandering echoes,
Of un-voiced wishes,
If's and Had it been's.
Tangy-sweet
Colourful
Soft-centred
Oranges
Berries
Pineapples
Gathered to garnish,
My solitary mind
Humbled and hungry,
Meandering echoes,
Of regrets and memories,
Tastefully savouring.
The Glow of Love — A Poem by Amita Sanghavi
https://culturalreverence.wordpress.com/special-edition-loves-rosy-glasses/
The Glow of LoveIn the glow Of love, The heart lights up. A lit heart lifts up all. In the glow of love, A smile widens. A smile repairs all sad souls. In the glow of love, Hope brightens. Hope brings its friend courage along. In the glow of love, May we together flow. In our flow, We all move to our final home. In the glow of love, We all merge together, Into our God benevolent, Where we all Ultimately belong.

Silence resonates
As she ascends
To the heavens
Here her voice remains:
A gift of essence,
Her eternal presence.
Silent tears resonate
With the loss
Of her voice
Our words we cremate.
Voice of the heavens
Our Pride and solace,
We will forever
Remember your grace.
Our voice beloved,
Our tribute,our respects
And our reverence
We struggle to express.
If the criteria of beauty were Voice not appearance, would the world not be different?
Pranaams to Saraswati’s form on earth, immortal you are on earth, not just in India, the land of your birth.
Only
Only when tears overflow,
We regain our balance,
And then does peace glow.
Only when fears
We do face and overcome,
Does living life
Seem worthy and awesome.
Despite the impediments
Continue your journey
onward.
Despite the highs and
lows,
Our gears we quickly
change,
We drive and move forward
Through Life's
Complete and inescapable
'Good and bad' range.
Let go the tears.
Face your fears.
Change your gears.
Mondays come and go.
Just move forward today.
A few
I wish you
Pleasant moments
More than just a few.
I wish you
A lovely surprise,
So you feel all 'oooh'!.
I wish you
Awesome memory-making
Dashed with laughter too.
Go, get your chai
Or go coffee brew,
Greet the lovely day
Ahead of you,
All fresh and new!
Heard?
Hush,
Heard the whisper?
A sound softer,
But so much sweeter?
Hush,
Heard the whisper?
A sound quieter,
Yet so much truer?
Hush,
Heard the whisper?
A sound fainter,
Yet so much wiser?
Hush,
Hear the whisper:
A sound, a murmur,
That's
Softer,
Clearer,
Fainter,
Sweeter,
Truer,
Wiser.
Listen to your heart's whispers today.
Book-clinging, book-dressed, page-wrapped, booklover, book worshipper, book writer, book dreamer, bookcollector, , booked beauty!
Please bring
Please bring along
A new song,
Also, let love
To us belong.
Please bring with you
A good news few,
Our smiles,chuckles,
Our laughter too.
Please hold together
Health and hope,
And the more
Peace you ensure,
The more we'll cure .
Please shower us
With some sunshine,
In all that we pursue,
Make our timing divine.
Please February,
As you arrive,
To you, I remind,
Please be considerate,
Be loving and kind.
If tomorrow comes
If tomorrow dawns,
Be thankful.
Right now,
This moment,
Today is all you have.
Be busy here and now.
In the littlest of tasks,
Putforth your extra,
Add your magic,
Show your awesomeness.
Make each task
As perfect, as special,
And as unique as you are!
Who are you?
You are your creativity,
Be thoughtful, artful:
Unique in your own way.
A person unforgettable.
You are your words,
Be a promise-keeper:
Person of integrity.
You are your actions.
Be a performer par excellence:
A person incomparable.
Be here and do now!
Chai, chai!
Choose to erase
The negativity.
Choose to erase
The frown,
The doubt,
The grudge.
The clocks tick
Real quick,
Let go the hurt,
Choose responses
Silent or sweet
But not curt.
Though thorns do prick,
Choose not to cling too
Long to wounds and lick.
With each sip of chai,
Just one by one overwrite
All negative memories,
Recall moments light,
Jovial and bright.
Choose to overcome,
Pain, pettiness, plight
Choose cheer and delight.
Choose to add
A dash of your 'awesome',
Accept life's cup of tea
As it does come,
Chinni kabhi zyada,
Kabhi kamm.
Chinni* sugar
Kabhi* sometimes
Zyada* more
Kamm* less
Chai ke saath biscuit ho jaaye,
Life mein aapke, chinni gul jaaye!

Happy Republic Day India!
May we move forward, Stronger,surer,together.
May we move forward,
To progress and prosper.
May our diversity
Bring us strength greater,
Make our minds grow richer,
May we stride with pride,
Holding hands of each other.
Hold peace today
Today ensure
Words are not flung,
No heart is with
Harsh words stung.
A thousand splendid
Truths we realise
When we observe silence,
And choose to be wise.
Affirm to yourself
once, twice, thrice,
Words are over-priced,
If at all I speak,
Only goodwill
And blessings,
My words ought to
Either spread or seek.
Words are meant to be
In prayers sung,
Silence is
My mother tongue,
Quiet is
My other tongue.
And how exactly
And how exactly
Do you want
The day to go?
What do you wish away
and what do you welcome?
No, no, not a flavour
All too sweet
Not just maple syrup
Or only loads of honey-
A pinch of powdered
Cinnamon or pepper,
Adds to the relish
Of Life's recipe.
Let the day be a bit
Chutney-like chatpatta*,
A daring dash of
Fresh green chilli,
Life's spicy truly,
Laugh often at self,
Be lively, seriously!
Enjoy fully,
All jokes silly.
Have a yum yum day,
Smile and laugh it away.
* chatpatta-spicy
chilli- silly balance!
This too shall heal
The fact of impermanence
We ought to hold
Onto closely,
Especially awarefully,
Consciously, every day.
Impermanence in life
Does remind us
That injuries
of the heart,
body and mind
Do not hurt forever.
This new injury
Feels heavy right now,
Unbearable somehow,
But its not permanent,
Soon it will heal.
Always remember
We are all temporary,
What happens to us
Does end, does pass,
And so shall we.
